MAD ABOUT WEST VILLAGE
I'll be waiting for you in the West Village
Happy Fashion Week(s) Everyone!
I decided to shoot my new Blush Rebecca Minkoff Loafers in my favorite corner of New York, the West Village, or depending where you're standing, also called, Greenwich Village. Many influential writers, actors, artists and creatives live in this part of Manhattan. Trying to explain all of the different neighborhoods and their certain charms would take a long time, so, I decided to do a series! A series of shoots in every neighborhood in NYC.
To start, we have West Village, where I feel most comfortable, happy and safe in the city. However, do note-NYC is actually more safe than most cities in the US! There are security officers almost on every corner and always near by to keep NYC safe from any harm. Also, one never truly feels alone in New York, there are always people walking next to you or around you on virtually every street! I constantly feel a sense of community and camaraderie when hustling and hurrying through the streets of Manhattan. We are all so driven and have important places to be and go! Everyone's a Dreamer.
Some delicious places to eat in the West Village? While We Were Young of course! If you want that brunch blogger or girlfriends meeting sweet air and design, this hot new spot has it! I always order the avocado toast because, let's face it, being basic is fun sometimes! Trust me it is delicious, and their cocktails to die for. Be sure to note the awesome service, adorable little details & the finishing touches on everything. I giggled when I had to push over rose petals to find my menu.
There are so many hidden gems in the West Village, but the best are the ones that you stumble into when your feet start to hurt from walking so much, or when you are in dire need of a latte. You will find the unexpected most adorable Parisian-like coffee shop or best imported Italian gelato in the country! Anything can happen in NYC. That's why it is such bliss to visit, and even more exciting, to live!
Blogging has so many wonderful perks, but one of my most recent favorite discoveries is collaborating with talented young photographers! I have had such great friendships and professional relationships formed through my Instagram or blog. It's amazing how technology really does connect us all to people we would have otherwise never knew existed! My newest photographer and artist is Kevin! His Instagram is: @Keyvoon :) Go check him out.
The part of West Village that I love the most is Commerce Street, here, you can see the leaves starting to change, gorgeous classic New York Brown Stones snuggled up next to each other and really get that NYC neighborhood feel. It is "Old New York" where it is quiet and tucked away from the bustling crowd and honking streets. A wonderful theatre is nestled in this perfect haven, The Cherry Lane Theatre, which I suggest anyone visiting to rush to see a show or performance here right away! Some of the best actors can be found performing here. Nothing like Off Broadway or Off Off Broadway to see new fantastic talent!
I hope you have enjoyed some West Village gushing, I can talk about my love for this part of NYC all day! Next, is SoHo, and then maybe Chinatown or TriBeCa. Keep your eyes peeled! Lots of new Fall looks, trends, bags & outfits coming your way.
