MAD ABOUT THANKSGIVING
Hello all, Happy Thanksgiving to you! I hope you are currently enjoying the feeling of family and/or friends surrounding you with love and tons of pumpkin pie today. This holiday has always been one of my top favorites because it focuses on a very important message. To be Thankful. Sure, we consume mass amounts of delicious food, wear cozy sweaters and gather together with laughter, but it is also a time to reflect on the important people and blessings in our lives. I know we all have SO much to be grateful for; I know I do. My family is my entire universe and I cannot exist without them. I am also grateful for simple things. Such as, The way my life has been thus far, and learning from my mistakes. I thought it would be only natural to make a list of things to be Thankful for this Thanksgiving.

I ask you to look inside yourself and ponder, “What am I truly thankful for today?” I am sure there will be some on your list similar to mine. However, every person’s situation in life is different and I urge you to be kind. For everyone is fighting a hard battle. I thank our veterans and men and women in service to our country. I feel that it is important to take note of the small things we take for granted every day. For example: hot water, that silly Kuerig coffee machine you love so much, two feet healthy enough to walk on, an amazing talent or skill, your favorite teacher, or that movie/book that changed your perspective. There are countless things/people/places/events that we should be thankful for.
So smile and acknowledge how lucky you are, or in my words, how blessed you are. It is easy to get caught up in work or the struggles of every day life and to whine and complain. To wish things were different or a certain way. When you find yourself doing this or saying these things: Stop. Collect yourself and write down on a napkin or sheet of paper 10 things you are grateful for. Ten things that you cannot imagine your life without. These are the support systems, the joys in life, and the ways we carry on. On this Thanksgiving, 2018, let’s truly be Thankful.
